FASHION WEEK!! AND ADELE

So it was Fashions Night Out this Thursday and I wish I had an exciting story about how I attended a million events and that visited every shop between the "Upper East Side" to "The Meat Packing District", but it's a much more subtle version of that story. Although it may not have been as glamorous as I would have wanted it to be It was still a great night. New York City streets transformed into runways and everyone was a model. New and upcoming designers strolled through the streets on Fifth Avenue.  It was a scene everywhere you went and the streets were alive. The Festivities started well off into the night for me so by the time I hit the streets I had already missed out on so much.

I had a chance to walk into the Gucci store on Fifth Avenue...
They had this amazing display of these boots there.
And this gorgeous red dress...
Sadly, as I mentioned earlier my night started so late that by the time I made my way to the Meat Packing District, the festivities for me were just in watching how NYC stepped out that night for the events.  Girls and guys both made an effort to stand out in some way or another. I was happy to experience that alone. BUT I won't let that happen to me again, I'm not missing it next time.

Fashion's Night out does launch the beginning of Fashion Week, September 8- 15, 2011 for Spring and Summer collections for 2012.

A little virtual dose of Fashion Week...
Tracy Reese, loved her collection

I love a jumpsuit! I want it!
Layers... I layer even in the summer time, there's ensemble without layers. That cropped jacket needs to be in my closet.
Accessories... Essential, the blue belt with the floral print dress, I need this on my body. The end.
Did I mention I love a jumpsuit??

This week I was fully submerged in Adele Land. Each song on Adele's sophomore album "21" pulled and tugged at my heart strings in different ways.  "Someone Like You" had me in tears, luckily my sunglasses were on and people on the train couldn't see me having an emotional melt down.  It brought me back to a place that I buried away for so long, it was kind of nice to get in touch with that "emo"girl deep inside of me. Her writing style is so personal and intimate, she's open and allows you to really know her through her emotions.

Live performance of Adele singing "Someone Like You" at Itunes Festival.  I love when the crowd sings the chorus at the end... Goosebumps

"Rumor Has It" had me tapping my feet and bumping my head. Her swag on that song was smooth and confident it was fun and uptempo. The backgrounds on that song have me smitten. This live performance of it was exactly the way I envisioned it. The backgrounds on this song are too cool, for lack of a better word.

Fulfilling my wish list...

I got the first item on my wish list!!

Fall is creeping in a lot faster than I thought it would so these should be making an appearance really soon. I'll make sure to post pictures up the minute they step out on the town.
